I came out to my best friend (from the answers of EC)

I recently posted a topic on how to tell my 'now bestest' friend that I am gay.

..and just today, I told him and he was okay with it, I full on have the most greatest trust and love for this friend of mine, he seems to bond with me even better knowing that I can open up myself to him.

Here's the story:

He came over on Monday night for me to unlock his iPhone for him and he was also going to sleep over. So I did things on Monday with him (like watching movies, unlocking iPhone, taking photos, having great chats etc.). The next day, we were left alone at the house (parents and brother went to work), we were waiting to go to the cinemas on that Tuesday afternoon, we got ready and left home.

Before we left home, he was talking about biscuits and his favourite brand of biscuits, but then he started calling them 'cookies'. I was thinking how to tell him that I was gay and I was trying to remember what the members from EC were trying to say, but when he said 'cookies', I immediately thought of the line that Quitex said 'I'm a gay cookie; with bi sprinkles', this is also my orientation on my profile. So I was finally pleased that I found out a way to tell him.

While walking to the bus stop (to go to the cinemas), I started saying to him 'Remember how you said that if I said anything to you, you would not tell anyone and would not see me different?'. He said 'Yeah?', then I said, 'Well, remember how we were talking about cookies? Well, I'm a cookie'. He said 'I don't really understand what you're talking about'. Then I said 'I am gay cookie; with bi sprinkles'. He paused for a moment, and then he replied saying 'Cool!'.

I said 'Cool?' and he said 'Yeah, it's cool. You're finally opening up and showing your true self to me, that's what friends do to each other. I don't feel any sadness or anger, I'm happy for you'. I kept on going on about how much of a good friend he was and I explained my sexuality in a more detailed matter. He was responding with positive comments about me and said that he feels more comfortable talking and hanging out with me now, because he feels that I'm not hiding anything from him.

During the cinemas and everything like that, he acted normal, like how he was before and he talks to me the same way he did before, everything was just the same. I must admit he made me cry, on the way home, while I was wearing my sunglasses, I never recieved such a great response from him and no one has made me happy like him, I dont think he noticed that I was crying.

I can just see that we will be the bestest of friends, in the next decade, even the millenium, century and life!

He is now, the bestest friend I have ever had.

 

He most definitely is awesome.

 

That reply made me cry. He is a great friend, I just cant believe that I met his friend, he is so supportive and just amazing! I'm proud to call him my friend. I've told him about EC and he likes the idea of it. I've shown him this thread and your comments. I'm pretty sure he'll be extremely happy!

My friend is very happy with the community here - he still hasn't checked all the replies on here yet but he sure will.

You guys at EC are great, if it wasn't for you guys, I dont think i wouldve ever come out to my best friend.

My best friend has checked this topic and he feels very great about it.
He said that this place is so welcoming and is a wonderful place for people like me to be at.
