Well, I finally did it today. I decided a few weeks ago that I wanted to come out to my mom as I'm visiting her for Memorial Day this weekend. Though I was very nervous, I finally told her that I was bisexual. I let her know that she was the first family member to find out and that I had known for many years. As I expected, she was ok with it. She was glad that I was comfortable enough to talk about that, and noted that I would have more "options" when it comes to relationships. She then gave me a hug and said that she just wanted my sister and I to be happy. I was stunned immediately after saying the word "bisexual". But I knew that I was going to be ok.
Congrats, this is a HUGE step (which I haven't taken yet) and I send you my best wishes for the future.
Awesome. Seem like everyone around EC is coming out to their moms, maybe it's my turn... Seriously though, congratulations. You should be proud of the courage you had when telling her. I'm glad she was supportive.
Congratulations, I came out to my Mom yesterday & she is also the 1st family member & it went well (*hug*)
