First-Ever Ex-Gay Pride Month to Be Held in DC This Month

"Ex-gay" people are now somehow different from straight people as they feel they don't have rights. What?

    *sigh*

Doesn't this defeat the purpose of a pride parade? It's not like ex-gay people aren't allowed to marry who they want.

What the fu@k is an ex-gay?

My Godmother - love her to death - "found God" about 20 years ago (her early 40's) and decided that she isn't a lesbian anymore. She has deemed herself ex-gay ... andshe is following God's plan.

Sooooo basically she is celebate - that's what she is saying. Ex-gay my as$. Nuh uh - you can't tell me she doesn't look at a sexy woman and think damn. Even if for a brief moment before she prays to God for strentgh.

    Give me a freakin break.

Pride and repression don't exactly go together. But by all means, celebrate how you managed to overcome love and acceptance with shame and ridicule.

  11. Yay! We're proud to be ashamed of ourselves and we now live a life of repression. Hooray!

Um.. Are you forgetting that most of those "happy, married heterosexual lives" don't last for very long? 2 years doesn't count as a lasting relationship. You also seem to forget that this didn't work on the very person who started all of this.

Ask any scientist who's not radically religious. Or give me one that says the above. I dare you. If you can do the latter, my mind will change. If not, you've failed the burden of proof.

This almost makes me laugh. I work about 5 miles from the Capitol, and I can't say that the enthusiasm about this is exactly tearing the city up. I note their big event is on July 31: I'll bet there might be more GLBT people protesting against them, if anything.

After all, this is merely a sham-cover for rabidly anti-gay forces:

"We've invited Reps. Michelle Bachmann (R-Minn.) and Tim Huelskamp (R-Kan.), former Sen. Jim DeMint, who's now the president of Heritage Foundation, and Matthew Staver of Liberty Counsel. And we're going to be hearing from a number of individuals, including myself, who are prominent former homosexuals and leaders in the ex-gay community. We're going to tell our stories, and talk about the work that we do and what we're doing to fight for the rights of ex-gays"

    So: Michelle Bachmann?

And Tim Huelskamp? The one who tried to introduce a constitutional ban to same sex marriage that stands a 0% chance of becoming law?

    And Jim DeMint????

    Why not invite Putin?

When will these people stop trying to make fools of themselves????

I'm very tempted to see if there's going to be a counter-demonstration that day...could be a lot of fun, to stir up some trouble for them.

So... ex-gays consider themselves to be different from heterosexuals, huh? Well, by definition, to be different from heterosexuals, you must not be heterosexual, so I don't see in what what they are ex-gay.

If they believe they are heterosexual, then they can enjoy the rights of heterosexuals.

This ^ . I don't understand how ex-gays are identifying themselves as a unique group away from heterosexuals and somehow do not possess equal rights...
