    I almost feel like Obama won't stand by for this...and I smell another lawsuit coming.

    Lawsuits can happen, but the President has no control over state laws.

    I know but he can still release a statement. Won't do anything but it's still there.

    Yes, but which state(s) will actually make it there? IN may be a little late... There was already a case started in MI before SCOTUS issued their rulings on DOMA and Prop 8. After SCOTUS took on the DOMA and Prop 8 cases, the judge stayed the case pending the rulings on the other two, suspecting that SCOTUS would either make the decision overall, or provide rulings that would need to at least be considered, and likely argued before he could make a ruling. The MI case is a direct suit about the constituionality of an amendment to the state constituion defining marriage as one man and one woman.
