There was never enough evidence. I already knew what they would say.
I know I'll get a lot of hate, but I agree with their verdict.

Well his life will still never be the same. Anyway the jury deliberated for like 2 days so its good they finally reached a verdict.

I think he should have been found guilty of something...but I see both sides. My grandfather was a local judge for nearly 25 years. I have massive amounts of faith in the justice system. It is NOT perfect, I know....

His defense played the game well and they won.

I think people shouldn't be so surprised! No one could figure out who was saying what....etc, etc, etc.

Also, what would this have done? I think this needs to get people out - people need to change the world, not complain that it didn't turn out the way they wanted.

Not surprising at all, although I thought it was possible Zimmerman would've gotten manslaughter.

The evidence just wasn't there, and the prosecution's witnesses weren't very good.

I agree with the verdict too. There were also a lot of irregularities on part of the prosecution, trying to cover their bases by adding manslaughter as an option, not producing all evidence recovered in a timely manner, etc. If you don't think you have enough for murder, don't say, "we'll go for murder, but we'll take anything."

Honestly, I would have voted not guilty either.

There was not enough evidence. There was evidence on both sides, that he did it in self defense, and that he didn't.

There was no concrete evidence to either side. People calling racism on this just make me... *facepalm*. You have no proof what happened was racist. You ASSUME it was.

my conservative friends on facebook are, to use a justifiable phrase to describe their responces, masterbating in joy at the verdict.

I am letting them have their glory, but it still only proves one fact; those conservatives celebrating only liked zimmerman because he was the one with the gun.

if zimmerman would have killed a white kid, the conservatives celebrating now would have wanted him to get the death penalty.

The prosecuters can likely charge him for purjury though, since he was proven to lie time and time again, which could very well open grounds for an appeal.

If this was COMPLETELY reversed. I guarantee you ...trayvon would have been convicted and i'll bet on that shit! ....if the races were switched. it would be a WHOLE different ball game and every one of you know it!

I've seen Zimmerman standing on trial, and it's obvious that he knows what he's done and I really think it's going to haunt him for the rest of his life. I'll agree with the not guilty verdict. Even if it really isn't the best.

there really wasn't any evidence that he broke any laws. it was clear form researching the laws and facts of the case that this is correct result. i've been following this case from the beginning and there was never any evidence that he committed the first felony and since the evidence indicated that Zimmerman was shot martin from below it was impossible to prove that he didn't act in self-defense.

haunt him? HA! yeah right. i saw him throughout that trial, his eyes looked like he was high (he obviously wasn't) but he was acting like he knew he was going to win all along which he did. i am so not surprised.

    florida....stupid republican racist state

he pursued him first. He shouldn't have gotten out of his car in the fucking first place!

    ---------- Post added 13th Jul 2013 at 08:09 PM ----------

Oh but yet, he got out of his car and followed him when they said not to.
and You VERY well know that if it WAS SWITCHED....it would be a whole different ball game. it wouldn't even be about evidence!

    Very well put.

It's sad. Certainly proof we don't live in some post-racial society. It's distressing to hear all the conservative blowhards going on about this, like they won some major cause.

Makes me wanna hear the Randy Newman song, 'Rednecks'.
