I hope these allegations are false. I like Carl DeMaio. It'd be nice to see more prominent openly gay Republicans. There are no such role models in elected office right now to my knowledge, just former officeholders.

Ah well, guess I'll just have to wait til another one pops up or until Congressman Schock comes out of the closet.

 

I'm not following this SD thing too closely. I found the politician from Idaho with a family messing around in the Minneapolis airport kind of a surprise, and ex-NJ governor Jim McGreevy, who came up with a high-paying quasi-useless job for the Israeli guy he liked, even more soap operatic.

 

The Republican party, folks. Gotta admit though, it is progress to go from child molester guy to public masturbating guy.

Well, what he did still wasn't as bad as molestation or public masturbation. Also, you here more stories like these from the Republican side than from the Democrat side.

My dislike of Republicans aside, I agree with this. If I entered a public restroom and caught a guy masturbating, I'd just do my business, wash and dry my hands and get out. It's not like he's hurting me (or anyone else) by masturbating (though I'm aware others would still take offence).

 

I think you have a lot more closeted Republicans, getting off on things like this, who get caught up in various scandals.

Correct. What Weiner did was worse than masturbation because it involved repeatedly cheating on his wife.

 

I don't consider that a big deal, as it is a private thing between him and his wife. Not my business, nor anyone else's. Certainly not a reason to vote or not vote for someone (the sexual harassment thing is though, and he did sexually harass women, no?).
