Oh, shot. Isn't it a death sentence there?

 

Who cares if they worship the devil?! Who cares about their sexuality?! Hhhh, people overreact a lot. And the assumed non-straight people were taken away! Ridiculous!

This is terrible. I hope they manage to get out somehow, Iran is one of the five countries that give the death penalty :c

 

Not to mention, Iran holds the title of having the most active executions against gay people.

What's their definition of a satanist? I'm too lazy to see the article right now. It still kind of boggles my mind that something like this is still a hot topic. This isn't the 80s anymore, people.

 

The Middle East has never been well known for accepting people for their true selves. Luckily they have cities like Kuwait and Tel Aviv out there to help them.

Iran relies on fear to exercise domestic powers. They're not working in the interests of the people, so the attitude has to be "my way or the gallows" in order to keep the Iranian people under control.

 

I feel so sorry for gay people in the Middle East and in Iran, and Saudi Arabia in particular. To have the strong threat of death or long imprisonment(where you'd likely be assaulted, brutalized and nearly killed) simply for being a certain way is truly repulsive. It's really depressing to think about the lives that some people have to endure....

Yes. Homosexuality is significantly frowned upon in that region.

 

Last time I checked, religion and sexuality were independent variables in a person's life.

And seriously Iran? You need an elite unit to arrest gay people at a birthday party? Your police SUCK!

 

I think it is a distraction to be honest. The country is facing many domestic problems such as youth unemployment. The sanctions are making it worse. I suspect the Iranian government is attempting to distract the public from these domestic problems by targeting homosexuals.

I am sure they just threw the satanist part in there as a propaganda tool to scare the population into thinking homosexuals are all satanist and to be feared.
