    i just got this email from Australian Marriage Equality and it says that people in the ACT will be able to get married if the bill passes (which its does according in to gay news network ACT marraige equality bill set to pass Tuesday - Gay News Network )

    But Senator Brandis is opposing it with his legal team in the High Court. Not a certainty, and if it fails, it means a constitutional precedent forcing marriage into the hands of the Federal Government, or at best only the states.

    true but if it passes it will be the first in state to legalize it and then if it is taken away it could lead to more support i think.
