  4. Somebody was going to do it eventually. You think Russia doesn't want this capability? If others have a crippling weapon, we had better be able to match it.

    The idea that the internet was ever safe is ridiculous. Governments, and even adept individuals can find out almost anything. It wouldn't take much to discover who exactly we all are on our anonymous EC profiles, and it wouldn't take that much more to find out the communications in government departments, businesses, embassies etc.

    Technology is simply the advancement in speed and increase in access of communications, and with that comes an ease of interception. The more easy it is to communicate over distance, the easier and more likely it is to be recorded by a third party.

    The internet can and has saved lives and fought for justice.
    I could pull up some more articles on that subject, but they're old news.
    I guess it can just as easily be used for destructive purposes.
