Charles Manson is so goose-shit insane I'm surprised he could even manage to propose to somebody. Not to mention he's one of the most famous faces of evil on the planet, so his bride would have to be almost equally crazy. (EDIT: Apparently the article says he does not agree and that she's talking complete crap.)

The important thing to remember politically, though, is that what does and doesn't violate marriage's sanctity is not based on reason. It's based on an attitude of superiority used to put down others in the name of loving thy neighbor. They don't care if Charles Manson gets married because even if he did horrific things unforgivable by humanity, it's to a female and is godly in the eyes of the far right. And even if a gay marriage is between two of the sweetest, kindest people ever, their union can never be accepted because in the eyes of those opposed, God said no.
