LGBT News Oklahoma Governor cuts benefits to all soldiers

Hopefully she will get impeached. BUt eh, federalism....

 

I wouldn't count on that. I can't stand the woman.

What they really mean: ... unless they're gay, discharged, female, opposes unnecessary wars, and poor.

 

Well if somebody openly goes "I'm using the system to burn minorities nyah nyah" there will likely be opposition, especially from the straight people who are also being victimized.

 

I think that all the states that are not following the directive of the DOD, and are refusing to give benefits to same sex soldiers should have their federal funding for the National Guard cut. A drop in funding may get their attention that the DOD means business.

 

Oh yeah she will, unfortunately. Oklahoma is considered the second-most Republican state in the country, behind Kansas. Plus she has a 65% approval rating.

 

As offensive as that is I have to admit it's also ingenious. I'd imagine the idea is to try to get the straight couples to blame the same sex couples for them having to take an extended round trip to get benefits they're entitled to.

Fallin isn't exactly the brightest person around.

I don't think firefighters are a drain on taxpayers, but the other two are.

 

National guard are crucial for getting aid to people in need after tornadoes. The major outbreak this year in May took out two cities and caused close to 400 injuries.

 

My hand is itching to slap someone for this total idiocy. If you're gonna be an arse to gay people, at least have the balls to do it outright. Don't put the hate on everyone else.

 

This reminds me of how people acted when African Americans didn't want to be treated like 2nd class citizens anymore . Why must we go backwards

 

That's very sad. I have a feeling some states are going to be violently oppose gay rights/marriage, even if they are granted nationally, much like certain states did during the civil rights era. Oklahoma looks like the new Alabama; a Birmingham without the protests; in fact, at least Alabama hasn't gone along with the other states that barring same-sex military befits, those states being Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, and South Carolina and, of course,Texas.

 

Because a lot of people think their right to be bigoted is granted by a divine being

 

Couldn't Obama federalize Oklahoma's National Guard and order them to enforce benefits?
