For a minute you sounded as though someone just died.

What I want to know is... What the flip was a twelve year old doing in a novelty store??? Haha, anyway, I think it's pretty obvious that these are a total gag, the way that they described the pills on the box makes it pretty blunt. XD I think it's silly.

  6. and people say I have no sense of humor?

really you need to learn to laugh

look here they were sold along side this stuff

"‘Gay Away’ pills, manufactured by Toronto based company Laughrat, were being sold alongside other novelty fake medicines sold by the company such as Nagotine ‘for people who nag smokers,’ and EgoManiax ‘medicine for enlarged egos.’"

It is all just a joke, if you can't laugh it IS going to end up killing you, I have a real problem at times, especially being able to read some peoples jokes, but this one is obviously meant just as a joke. and I am one to protest anti-gay stuff - I have been put through reparative therapy and the victim of hate.

I see it as a joke that satirises the gay cure industry. Granted I know that'll probably be lost on some people but I can think of more harmful things than a subtle bit of satire.

I saw it as satirical and an anti anti-gay statement pointing out homophobic stupidity.

    It's a gag gift. Personally, I think it's funny.

I've seen these and I didn't see the problem with them, BUT if they were not in a store intended for adults who are able to understand the satire, I could see the community being concerned about them. If they were in such a store, then I don't really see the problem.

I'd like to get a box to take to my homophobic parents for Christmas, just to see if THEY can't tell it's satirical humor either. I think there is enough real issues in the world without getting upset over this.

    Mortifying? Check.
    Tasteless? Check.
Delicious? As far as I know it's the only edible gay cure to use real sugar instead high fructose syrup. I really appreciate the extra effort.

I don't have a problem with satire, but novelty items like these need to be carried in stores where the satire will be fully understood, not in convenience stores where young children can become confused and offended.

Except where's the "hetero away" pills? They're profiting off that hate, joke or not.

Hilarious, but should only be sold on the internet or in gag stores, IMO.

Hilarious if its sold at a store where they do adult novelty joke items. I would buy some and give to a straight friend

However if this was at a store where kids could access it and other everyday people, not good. they wouldnt get the humor.

People have different tolerances to shock humor, and this is pretty out there. Don't try to force people into a thick skin, it never works and often ends up going the other way around.
