Hi everyone, I stumbled over this story of the outing of the US-Republican Congressman Aaron Schock by the Journalist Itay Hod on Facebook. Since there was this thread about Schock's sexuality, you might already know about this politician: http://emptyclosets.com/forum/current-events-world-news-lgbt-news/82765-aaron-schock-gay.html

What's interesting is, that Schock is not only against gay marriage and for the Federal marriage amendment, but also voted against the repeal of DOMA and "Don't Act, don't tell".

Whether Schock is gay or not, what do you think about the outing by the Journalist Itay Hod on his Facebook page? You can read it on the linked page: Aaron Schock Outed As Gay By Itay Hod, Journalist, On Facebook? Here just an exert:

Regarding his actions as a politician, do you think it's justified or "just" an exercise of power?

Well he takes me back to the days when i myself was a big homophobic person and i must say that is a terrible place to be in when you hate yourself and put your hate on other people .

If I saw him without knowing this story... I would have presumed him to be gay with the images I saw + the fact that such a man is not in a marriage.

We've had threads here that discuss outing someone or not....its always an eventful topic!

Personally....I do feel that if someone has proof and isn't just out to cause a stir, and the person is openly doing things to hurt our community...then, go for it. The last line of the quote really got it. "...which would add language to the us constitution banning gay marriage and would likely strike down every gay rights law and ordinance in the country?" That's not good...at all. So, if this is true, then I'm glad it's out.

Also, political stances aside, I'm just gonna put this out there: he's hot.

I really don't like the idea of using outing as a weapon. I know this gentleman has voted against certain ordinances that would make our lives that little bit easier, but I don't see how someone from our side infringing on Mr Schock's or anyone else's right to a private life makes everything all better or improves our chances.

He's just one guy who voted against repealing DOMA, it still passed, and voted against the repeal of DADT which still passed. He's about as dangerous as Ghandi with a sandwich.

He doesn't have a right to a private life. People have a right to observe his behavior, share that information, and report on it. People's sexualities are something we keep in confidence as part of a polite society. It's far from a requirement. And a person who does things to hurt us strains the patience of a polite society.

Aaron Schock has always been a disgusting self-hating closeted homo who has used his position in government to advocate for even the most extreme anti-gay positions.

Though the man isn't bright enough to even try to hide his faggotness. No straight man walks around dressed like this:

I just have to say that he is physically attractive and the way he dresses isn't indicative of his gayness. In college, many guys dress like him so I wouldn't say he dresses in a gay way.

    I vote "yea" too.

White jeans, aqua belt, purple gingham shirt...that sort of outfit is pretty high on the gayness meter.

Actually, I thought they were chinos, I suck at the details of fashion :icon_redf . But, if they're jeans, I'll agree with you. The shirt doesn't seem gay, it reminds me of a good ol' American picnic table, and the belt, well, I've seen worse. The only things that threw me off was the high waist of the pants.

The gentleman from Michigan votes "yea" as well.

The yeas are 3, the nays are 0, the bill is passed.

Actually, after examining the bill more thoroughly, I'm changing my vote to nay.

The gentlemen from Missouri votes yea.

I feel bad for people who get outed that aren't hypocrites, but I feel it's poetic justice when it happens to a hypocrite.
