What else do you expect? African is a very backwards continent.

Well, I can't be shocked or angered. What does one expect from a place where homosexuality is a criminal/capital offense?

"suspect of being gay" can be like, very tyrannical from here.

Zimbabwe, Uganda, Nigeria...there's never any good news for queer folks coming out of Africa.

What about South Africa, they have equal marriage at least?

As to the article in question, I can't say I'm too surprized by this. I would think it's better for queer folk in the cities though.

Unfortunately, even in that relative 'haven' of homosexuality (by African standards), any queer-related news coming out of South Africa is still pretty much all bad.

  9. Half of Africa is Islamic, which is staunchly anti-gay. The other half (except South Africa) is actually Christian and became anti-gay due to western contact. In fact, most east Asian countries became anti-gay due to western contact.

I think this law is even worse than the Ugandan one, saying that you are gay gets you 14 years? What is this though crimes?

The UK should distance itself from countries with no respect for Human Rights

Yes, it's funny how that works: Westerners colonize and bring their religions to the rest of the world, then later blame the ones who were oppressed for having these beliefs and practices in the first place, screaming, "You will be civilized like us!" It's a mindset that has been around for centuries.
