Maybe I'm being a bit premature, but I wanted to start a thread.

"Tomorrow’s equal marriage vote will be a milestone moment in Scottish history"

Tomorrow, the Scottish parliament are going through the third and final stage of introducing same-sex marriage: it's the last opportunity to introduce any amendments to the bill, after which it'll be put to a vote. And the vote shouldn't be a problem: according to this, 106 MSP are in favour while 16 are against the bill. In 24 hours' time, we should have equal marriage here.

My uni's ready and has its LGBT flag up (it does this every February, since it's LGBT History month, but I'm just gonna pretend otherwise because it's fitting).

That's great to hear! If I had a kilt, I'd wear it in solidarity and celebration. Also, because I think they just look cool!

Very proud of my ancestral home. This means that three out of the four countries in which I've lived have marriage equality

Just make sure to wear something under it, just so it won't get awkward. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

A friend of mine is engaged and living in Scotland. She is really excited and hoping their "marriage" next year is legal

If you wear something under it, it ceases to be a kilt and becomes a skirt:lol:

And lo, every wrecking amendment was duly given a kicking and there's a rainbow over parliament.

And it's passed with ease, 105 in favour v 18 opposed with no abstentions.

The funny thing is we were supposed to be on pause until after the independence referendum.

Yes! One step closer! It's times like this that make me feel very proud of the places and countries where my ancestry lies.
