    The actress Ellen Page came out as a lesbian from the stage of HRC’s inaugural Time to THRIVE Conference.

    I was actually really excited when I saw this thread title because I had always gotten vibes when I watched her older movies, but she never disclosed anything so I was starting to think I might have been off on that one.

    Awesome! It's honestly amazing how she came out right when I was in a low place and having some self-esteem issues. But seeing her strength and joy has given me strength as well.

    It was very heartfelt. She waited until she was twenty-six, so I'd imagine it was something that she was a bit apprehensive of revealing.

    Wow, that was a great speech. So heartfelt.

    I know its easy to think that being gay or lesbian is easy in Hollywood, but often coming out can significantly hurt their careers and public image. I'm so proud of Ellen Page for taking the risk and encouraging gay and lesbian people across America.
