Signed... I'm tired of people in power using us as some sort of scape goat... it is sickening!
And wouldn't government sanctioned killing/imprisonment of any sort of person violate U.N. or some international law?

I highly doubt any sort of internet petition will affect things in Uganda, but it's worth a shot.

Signed. I always sign those things, but when it's for something like that for a country like that, I'm with Skaros, I don't know how much good if any it will do even if the signature goal is met or even surpassed. It's unfortunate, but all it's doing is sending a plea to monsters. Such monsters as them never gave a damn before. This petition probably won't make them give a damn now. Probably, the only thing this petition will be able to do is bring more attention to people about their atrocious crimes. The people we should be pressuring to help is the United Nations, and countries that actually care.

It's still important to sign the petition to bring attention to it, but it's unlikely that the homophobic bigots over there have a heart that this petition can affect.

This is such a crock of shit that many of us have signed petitions like this years ago to get the bill shelved or discarded, yet here we are in 20-fucking-14 still doing it.

I signed, but I'm still pissed.

I signed it, but this is obviously pointless.

Our time is better spent trying to convince the United States and other supportive countries to accept LGBT people for political asylum. Additionally, we could work toward getting a vote in the UN General Assembly demanding that any country that imprisons or executes people on the basis of being gay or advocating for LGBT rights be deported instead to the nearest country that will offer asylum. This is the best middle ground we can hope for with foreign nations that want to use such laws to silence and harm LGBT people.

Will sign, but do these petitions really do anything for the people in Uganda?

People, stop with the whole "but it probably won't do any good" talk, the important part is that we at least are trying to help

Signed, but I don't think it'll change the minds of the bill's creators.

To kill monsters, we need worse monsters. Relentless, irredeemable souls.

I'm sorry but a couple of mostly white people,
    Who happen to be LGBT,
And from countries(Most likely) that imposed colonial ideologies onto Africa,
Are not going to change anything,
If anything it's going to make it worse.

I hope you don't believe that. If you do, then you already lost. Take it from someone who knows a thing or two about real monsters. Keep creating them, and the whole world goes to hell. They need to be stopped and fixed, or stopped and eliminated if they can't be fixed. No one is born inherently evil, and you don't need to scorch the earth and start anew to create a better world. Until you can realize that, you're no better off than the monsters who create bills like these. And just because you can't see how to create a better world without scorching it first, doesn't mean there isn't a better way. If you can't find a better way, than just leave it to the people who can like me. It may not happen over night, but one day poison like that won't exist in this world and won't come back later on down the road. Me and other people who fight to make this world permanently a better place will make sure of that.
