I'm listening to the radio right now, and Obama is really making me mad. He is lashing out against the 'evil conservatives' who don't pay women as much as they deserve. He says that they are intentionally doing it, and that he is going to take (unconstitutional) measures to fix this 'evil'.

In the White House, female employees are being paid $0.88 for every dollar that male employees are paid! (Source) The White House's excuse: women have different jobs than men, so that's why a pay difference exists. But of course when a conservative uses this (usually legitimate) excuse, they are harshly criticized by the media and the president for their 'crimes against a free society'.

President Obama is a disgrace to the United States government, and so are most other politicians.

  2. I'm sure every politician, regardless of political affiliation, has their bouts of political hypocrisies.

Yes, but this administration has begun persecuting those with opposing views, while following their own double standards. They have taken it to a new level of injustice.

Do they actually work different jobs?

That's not my point. Whether it's actually true or not, the fact is that the White House uses that excuse and then criticizes conservatives for using it, which is absolutely unacceptable.

It might be true, it might not be, but that's a different conversation for a different time. I would have to research that specifically.

Obama is far from a "liberal", but this pay gap this is a serious issue.
If a woman and a man work the same job, they should earn the same pay.

I don't quite know what you mean by him not being a liberal? Please explain.

Absolutely! I have nothing against this. But once again, it isn't the main point of this post, I am focusing on political hypocrisies.

He has the same far right corporate policies as Bush had.

Oh yeah, I agree with you that it is hypocritical. Not a fan of Obama.

Every politician has hypocrisies...don't just blame libs

You may not be old enough to remember but I sure remember "Read my lips...no new taxes" follow....by taxes

And GWB in my opinion is king of hypocrites. He spent so much money and took us on two needless wars and took us from a surplus to a deficit and then criticizes Obama for spending

I am not telling you Obama isn't being a hypocrite...but the man is right. Knocking down this law to pay genders fairly is evil

But to stick with your original thread...every politician is a hypocrite...not just liberals

Maybe with the new policy for federal workers will correct the pay disparity referenced. I thought the action he's taking is only for federal workers/contractors. I don't think he's saying private companies not working for the government have to change how they pay employees. Where is the unconstitutionality in all this?

    An example:

The IRS Scandal. Starting in 2010, many conservative groups were denied tax-exempt status and were persecuted by the IRS, making it hard for them to operate effectively. These groups were fighting for their own beliefs. The IRS carried this out, while our president (the defender of the Bill of Rights, public opinion, and freedom) covered it up.

I've stopped selectively blaming politicians like this. If any one of them turned good overnight, not much would change. Too many in the system now are wolves disguised as shepherds.

I'm definitely no fan of George W. Bush. If he were president now, I'm sure I would post about his failures too.

I realize this has now become the 'we hate politicians' thread. I do think that they all have their own problems.

Can't really comment on the US, but we haven't had a truly liberal government in the UK for over 30 years. The Labour administration of 1997 - 2010 was far from liberal in its thinking and pursued policies that were akin to the Conservatives agenda. They squandered a golden opportunity in this country and became too pally with the Bush administration in the US.

You need to go back to the Wilson/Callaghan Labour government in the 1970's for real liberalism (socialism) in the UK. No wonder we have so much political apathy here now.

GWB was full of BS and only in office to either serve his own interest or dance for his puppet master ( Idk which...I assume the later given GWB's history of being an idiot )

Obama is full of BS and only in office to serve his own interest.

We're far beyond the point in time where politicians are actually in office for the people. That era of American history is long dead, and every politician we elect from now until the end of this government will be in office to do the bidding of corporations and special interest groups.

As to the hypocrisy...it's a politician thing.

What interest(s) of his own is Obama serving? A desire to be well remembered as an effective leader?

    :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

    effective leader xD

His crowning achievement has been nothing short of disastrous, he can't get the republicans to do anything, and he's been caught lying more than once.

A few things Obama did that I disapprove of:

1.) Drone strikes - How many children have died because of these? In Yemen alone quite a friggin lot. He's a murderer in my eyes for this. I'm not so nationalist with a simplistic Us vs. Them mentality. We're all human beings, and children aren't responsible for the actions of their country. It should be every leaders responsibility to ensure that innocent children are left out of the bloodshed

2.) The NSA - Part of Obama's platform while running for office was to tell the American people to their faces that he'd start sending our surveillance state in the opposite direction. When he got his re-election the story broke that not only was he not making good on his promise he was actually doing the opposite of what he promised behind our backs. He's nothing more than a sleazy scumbag liar >.<

List of things Obama's done that I approve of:

1.) Healthcare - This one...he did Okay. He didn't do amazing, he didn't even do great. His achievement has some issues and needs tweaked a bit. Overall though it was a positive so he gets like half a credit for it =p

    and that's it...he hasn't done anything else really. =/

Funny thing here, in Wisconsin, Republicans repealed the equal pay law that was passed when Democrats controlled the state legislature and Democrat Jim Doyle was governor. And it's not the Democrats who have waged the all-out War on Women either.

Obama isn't even close to being a true liberal. One or two points on a political compass separated him and Mitt Romney.

If men make a dollar to a woman's .88, we need to fix that. This isn't a conservative/liberal issue at all, it is an issue if people who have. common decency vs those who want women barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen.
