Which state/ Washington D.C. do you think will be next to start allowing and recognizing gay marriages (these do not include civil unions)?

USA: My guess is on Rhode Island.

    How about international?

    My guess is on Sweden.

My guess is New York. They're getting pretty close now, recognizing marriages from other states and all.

As far as international goes, I would definitely agree that it will be Sweden.

Well, I don't know internationally, but as for the US, I'm going to go with either NY or Rhode Island. I'm from RI, and we like Massachusetts. Sometimes I feel like Massachusetss and Rhode Island are really just one huge state, and I think they influence this state a lot.

That was my thought initially; being from CT, I can see that. Have you heard anything about anything being introduced...I know RI is pretty progressive...come on an island referred to as BI...it has to be.

I don't know. I think I read something earlier in the summer, but I'd have to look again. But, Rhode Island usually follows trend with MA.

I could see any of the little states up north

One of the Northeast states, most likely. But how long until it happens?

The Iowa Supreme Court will decide on the issue next year. I have hope that the Court will rule in favor of gay marriage(a judge here already did last year), and I think other states legalizing it would help here. It would be awesome to be the first Midwest state to permanently legalize gay marriage.

Definitely no where in the South. I think all the states will evenutally allow and recognize it but the Southern more conservative states will more or less be "forced" into it.

I think a state up North would be next, I consider Rhode Island since it's so close with Massachusetts and New York would be great -- a huge state doing a great thing.

As for international, probably a European country -- not sure which one.

My guess is Arizona. They have put legislation on the back burner waiting for the outcome of California's vote in November.

In NZ we only have a Civil Union bill, but Our PM Hellen Clark is not againsed gay marriage. She wont push for it though. I would.
