It gets worse: Uganda drafts new anti-gay law | Gay Star News

So now that they've reduced your average LGBTI person's life expectancy to around 20 minutes, they want to make it impossible for anyone to help them. Suppose the only question left to ask now is will it be camps or death squads in the near future?

Uganda is such a mess and hellhole of a country under it's currently leadership, plagued by severe social and economic problems, the only thing the people in power can do to stay in power is to distract the population by constantly coming up with new ideas of how to demonize and persecute a widely hated minority and scapegoat them for Uganda's real problems.

It's like in the Old South in the United States, politicians would divide and conquer the population by making persecution and demonization of black people centerpieces of their agenda, so the dirt-poor white farmers would vote for politicians that would screw them over socially and economically because they are convinced it is the black population's fault for their problems. Even though the dirt-poor white farmer has no social or economic freedoms nor any prospect of improving his life, at least he can consider himself superior to the dirt-poor black farmer.

Now Uganda being a black nation, obviously that wouldn't work, but with rampant homophobia among the population, LGBTQ people make perfect targets by which to exercise the same divide-and-conquer strategy.

It's all to distract people from real economic and social injustice.
