    Is the trial of Oscar Pistorius becoming more of a media circus?

    This item from Sky News (UK) tells the story of a 'frantic' Oscar Pistorius, but look to the side of the story and you can see special programming and clips from the courtroom.

    Does all of this hype serve justice in any way? Is it in the interests of any party to have cameras in a courtroom, with trial by television?

    No, I don't think it serves justice... This has pretty much become a money making machine for media companies at the expense of those involved in this tragedy... I don't see the justice in that irrespective of whether he is guilty or not, never mind the victim who's private life is also displayed for all to see... There's no honour in that.

    I've been interested in other view points on it. I think it's been sensationalized - however, since it's outside of the U.S., it's not nearly as bad as some of our trials have been. How is it for everyone else?

    He's obviously guilty and they need to go ahead and sentence him.

    Thing is, no one I know really cares. Sky news's business model revolves around turning news into entertainment - and on this story I think they're struggling.

    I don't see why it gets so much attention, when so much else is going on in the world, that could be covered and discussed, that could prove much more useful. These kinds of celebrity side-shows annoy me.
