Oh, wow. Those people are sick. The man gets brutally murdered and decapitated on a bus and those sick people are protesting at his funeral? If I were part of that man's family, I don't know that I'd be able to stomach those awful people being there ranting and raving about how my dead relative is burning in Hell. Those people have an incredibly sick, twisted sense of morals.

Whenever I read of things like that happening I feel absolutely 100% disgusted in the human race. Well, admittedly not all of the human race, but you know what I mean

The fact that people can justfy such a morally wrong activity as ruining someone's funeral, not only completely disrespecting the deceased's life and achievements, and cause so much additional pain to their family and friends over something that's none of their business.. It's just.. Disgusting isn't a strong enough word sometimes.

I wish these nutcases could just say to themselves "OK, so they're going to hell, it's their problem, I'll go about my own life and worry about myself" instead of trying to change people.

Sorry for the rant! Things like this really hit a sore spot!

Eh... More WBC idiocy. After a while, none of the stuff they do can surprise me anymore. *sigh*

I honestly don't know what I can say that already hasn't been said about these demented nutjobs, but still, I can't help but feel such anger. They are so damn twisted... How can they say that they are following "standards of God" if they promote murder? I wouldn't be surprised if these bloodthirsty bastards actually hired someone to randomly kill anyone just so they can find some stupid excuse to protest.

    ....
That murder was so incredibly horrifying and sad... I can't believe they would cause so much more grief to the families...

If I was there, I would beat the shit out of them.

I hope they get kicked out of Canada permanently for this.

I predicted WBC before I even entered the thread. It's the same tired and dull ranting every time, and it's not doing anyone a bit of good. By the way, whatever happened to that $11.9Million lawsuit they got hit with a while back? Did anything ever come of that?

First off, the brutal murder of Tim McLean is despicable enough, the next worst thing is picketing the poor guy's funeral. Even though I never knew him, I literally live a few houses down the street from him and a bunch of my friends knew him and it is still shocking to hear that this happened so 'locally.'

Why are they picketing his funeral anyway? As far as I know he wasn't gay and was an all around good kid. Part of me would like to give the WBC folks a piece of my mind but then I think about the family. I woke up one morning to see TV/Radio vans lining the street trying to interview his family. I'm sure they're exhausted from the media coverage and they probably don't want an argument starting outside of their son's funeral. Shame on the WBC for their insensitivity.

They're picketing his funeral because they now he's a semi-celebrity and doing it will get them more publicity than if they picketed some random soldier's funeral. Whenever someone dies and gets lots of media coverage, the WBC are sure to snap right to it whether the person had anything to do with LGBT people or not.

    O-H-I-O!

You hit the nail right on the head.

The usually make up a reason to picket a funeral of a non-LGBT person, but the real reason is because they want to make sure that the world hasn't forgotten about Fred Phelps and his lovely family.

I always thought there was something in the Bible about respecting your neighbor...Also "pride comes before the fall", but what would I know, I'm a sinner?

We do have laws in Canada prohibiting hate speech.
If they do protest on public property they can be escorted from the premises.
Unlike in the U.S. they shall realize quickly that they can't disturb the peace and get away with it.

Harper should join their ranks, the crazy goon.

Tim McLean, the bus passenger who was murdered a few weeks ago while the other passengers watched? They're protesting his funeral.

Change of plans for me. It seems as though a facebook group has sprung up and there's a plan to form a human wall around the church to shield to block access from any protesters. I'm definitely going to go. Unfortunately it is from 2:30-4:30 and I work at 4:15 so I'll have to leave a little early but I'd like to be apart of it.

HELLO! It's the Westboro Baptist Church, they're crazy! Always have been, always will be. These people protest funerals like Tony Snow's and Tim McLean's because they want to gain publicity for their craziness. They're inbred retards from the middle of no where and they're are obviously not even Christians, so why do we give them attention?

Apparently, certain Canadian border guards have been asked not to allow the WBC members in. I don't know what good that will do, but it's worth mentioning.

Anyway, I wanted to say that I've now got even more trust and appreciation for my mother. I mentioned this story to her while in the car, and I brought up how the WBC was planning to protest the funeral. Her reaction was that they were "just sick, disgusting people". She asked me if I were to believe in a god, did I think he would condone such protests, with the obvious negative answer. I don't understand how they get a sense of satisfaction from submitting to and worshiping such a sadistic and vicious god as theirs.
