...on the 10th year anniversary of the first gay marriage in the nation. Congratulations to those who fought so hard for this. Its fun watching the states fall one by one by judges ruling the majority doesn't get to suppress the minority. Lets hope for many more successes in equal rights for the LGBTQ community.

    Wow, ten years.
It has been a long ten.

Not to be a Debbie downer, and despite all the victories, the "other side" has not given up one little bit on their goal to win the battle.
The "other side" has absolutely no respect for SS marriages nor any respect for the Gay people that make up all those marriages.
    Again, I refer to Iowa.
Legal marriage equality since 2009, some 5 years now.

BUT... as I posted in another thread, if the Iowa senate should go republican this November, SS marriage in Iowa is number one on the chopping block.
Forget that SS marriage has been legal now for 5 full years in Iowa, and forget the thousands that have married in Iowa, and married in Iowa from other states.
Forget all that. And the hell with respect.

If republicans should take over in Iowa, they will mount an all out assault on the legally of SS marriage in Iowa. Especially since it was the Iowa courts that legalized Iowa SS marriage, something that is not recognized, respected, or considered legitimate by these anto-Gay Iowa republican hopefuls.

Everything is republican in Iowa except for the Iowa senate, which has stopped every attempt to reverse Iowa's SS marriage equality laws.
A senate kept democratic by only a few democrat majority seats.
Those democrat held seats republicans are attacking HARD.

You may have heard of that lady republican candidate in Iowa that celebrates her years on the farm castrating farm animals.
Well, she is just one of the those republicans hoping to take back one of the democrat held senate seats in Iowa. Another typical right wing ant-Gay tea party looney that Iowa voters just love.

Watch the Iowa state elections come this November.
SS marriage in Iowa is definitely under attack despite having been legal for 5 years now.
And republicans absolutely will not blink an eye to get their way.
