Wow, so now every state without gay marraige has a case pending...even North Dakota.

Oh, and let's not forget DC...we have 19 states, plus DC

    Population of North Dakota: 699,628
    Population of DC: 632,323

Weird, how DC is so tiny, yet has almost as many people. And also has no representation in congress, either in the house or senate.

The licence plates in DC say, 'Taxation without Representation.'

Well yeah, DC included. But one thing I never ever got and still doesn't make sense to me is when Americans say: "X states + DC." Is it just cause this is America? I doubt any other country says: "All of [country] + [National Capital]" idk...it seems, to me, we're treating DC like the Lost City of Atlantis when DC is located in Maryland but whatever.

Seems I left out two categories of the breakdown:

Awesome, I was waiting for this to happen. It's great to see that the laws and constitutional amendments that banned same-sex marriage are being attacked in every single state of the United States.

To be fair, they probably have a couple hundred thousand more living there on oil fields/fracking sites who are not actually residents of the state. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I don't believe it. North Dakota is being challenged. This is amazing. I can't wait for the day that gay/lesbian marriage will be legal in all 50 states.

The jurisdiction of Washington D.C. is not part of Maryland, or any other state. The city is it's own federally managed district. The metropolitan area extends into Maryland and Virginia, but that is under the jurisdiction of those states, not Washington D.C.

DC: Here, we call it, 'The District'.

It is not as cool, hip, trendy or friendly as Baltimore. Not as down to earth, one might say.

The trouble with DC is that there's a lot of rich, snooty yuppies, and then, a lot of very, very poor people. It has great museums, and parts are very beautiful, but it also feels sorta fake.

Most people tend to move out of DC and to Baltimore, rather than the other way around. Baltimore is rapidly developing a huge arts scene, and becoming a bit like Brooklyn, NY, but cheaper.

Still, I think DC should have representation...it's not like there's some fence separating it from Maryland and along the Potomac, to that sprawling congestion of traffic and strip-malls, known as northern Virginia

Now to return this thread to it's regularly scheduled topic: North Dakota. Which I drove though once, and can't remember a thing about.
