Christians clash with Seoul pride parade | Gay Star News

See, I think if this had been the other way round the Christians would have cried "persecution", but because it wasn't we'll be expected to say "thank you sir, may I have another?" With a lot of patronising bullshittery about life choices, how we deserve it, demonic possession and so on. Imagine the frothing at the mouth and cries of "I TOLD YOU SO!" from the American Taliban if a Pride parade started chanting "Christians had no place in the country."

One rule for us, one rule for them.

EDIT: What's the betting that the authorities will blame the parade for what happened, rather than upsetting the Christians by telling them they did wrong.

South Korea always has had a very conservative mindset. Parents even have that attitude of "Oh, you got into Yale, but not into Harvard?". Although it is developed, I'm not surprised these kinds of things happen.

What do you mean "now?" There have been conservative Christian churches in Korea for well over a century and have been an important part of society. It's not like Korea is the pretty little fiction most non-Koreans have.

Christian missionaries have gone to pretty much every country to spread the word. I'd be amazed to find a country without at least a small core Christian population.
