    Keep in mind he is a satirical comedian. One should not take everything he says to a literal level, so I'm not sure he "changed" any of his views.

    Colbert's show is supposed to be satirical, as others have pointed out. He's basically playing a character on there meant to mock right-wing reporters like people on Fox News. He was saying that to make fun of the guy who was claiming to suddenly have no stance on marriage equality.
