Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual people are allowed to serve openly in our Armed Forces. It is true that Transgender people are not (openly). I've met Kristen Beck before and she is an awesome person, definitely not a Pentagon poster child, and is working hard to promote equality.

A lot of people seem to forget that DADT hasn't been gone that long in the scheme of things. Progress against fear and ignorance takes time, and sometimes done in steps instead of one huge leap.
