LGBT News Gay Marriage Legalized in Kentucky

    Today, a federal judge had ruled Kentucky's gay marriage ban unconstitutional. The judge has stayed the ruling, and it's currently pending an appeal. So, gay marriage is legal in 19 states so far, and I've lost count of how many have an appeal pending. If you ask me, this was a nice surprise to go along with Canada Day. Now, I have no doubt in my mind that the states with appeals pending will fully allow gay marriage by December and hopefully in 2016, gay marriage will be legal in every state. (!)

    Nope, unfortunately, cousin marriages are prohibited in Kentucky. They'd have to go to California, Hawaii, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Rhode Island, or Vermont. Based on the current maps on Wikipedia, Virginia and Colorado will be added to the list after the appeals court (and possibly the supreme court) lift the stay, and uphold the lower court ruling.

    Kudos to Kentucky! Like a lot of people, I didn't even think Kentucky would legalize gay marriage anytime soon. Hearing news like this is simply amazing!

    Indeed...our current PM is one of the nastiest sociopaths you could ever meet, is a rigid Catholic, and I think we've got a snowball's chance in hell of having gay marriage legalized in Australia as long as he in in office.

    Great news about Kentucky, though...well done to all who have helped make it happen :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:ride:
