This strikes me as the same line of reason I once heard my father use a long time ago (albeit on a much more awful scale, considering the outcome...).

Although he could have just, you know, been a not-bad man and set a good example by, you know...not brutally killing her. That would've been a good start. Nah, not batshit insane enough.

I'm sure someone's gonna try to change his sexual orientation in prison.

This guy obviously has some serious mental issues. I mean, let's face facts. He admits that he abuses women, that he's a bad man, and he was beating a TWO YEAR OLD child. I mean, fuck, for all he knew she could have been the biggest lesbian since Ellen. She was two. fucking. years. old.

What I find really sick in this case is that the prosecutor cut a deal with him. What the hell? The guy admits that he abuses women, and that's why he was beating his daughter - to protect her from men like him - you're really going to let this nut job back out on the street? What? Does Michigan actually believe the prison system is going to make him better?

My money is on him going back to prison, likely after he kills a woman by beating her to death as well. Ugh.

I mean, if you aren't going to get this basket case the legitimate help he needs, then at least do the citizens of Michigan a favor and leave him locked away for the safety of others.

 

I think this man seriously needs mental help. I mean, I don't think a healthy person could be thinking like that..it just doesn't make sense.

I also think that he should spend a life in prison. I agree with Aldrick, deal is inappriopriate in this situtaion, I mean for God's sake, he has murdered a two year old and he admits to everything. I feel the weigh of this crime deserves more than just 19 years he might get.

 

I think this is probably a rationalization after the fact, honestly.
