This was pretty funny. I bet she was like "WTF just happened?"

Honestly, if you're going to be a criminal, try to be good at it. Learn to drive stick and why take a Kia? They should have tried to take a BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, or Volkswagen.

People steal crap cars because they're easier to sell for parts to fencers; people who sell stolen merchandise.

There isn't a huge market for luxury vehicle parts since their isn't a huge market for luxury vehicles in general. Rich people also tend to get their vehicles fixed at the dealers not a random mechanic.

Stealing a crap car is a lot smarter, they also are less likely to have GPS devices and anti-theft software.

They aren't stupid for stealing a KIA they're stupid for assuming stick was easy to drive when it's not.

This actually happened to a friend of mine. She was sitting across the street from her car, and she saw someone get into it. Then, he looked toward the center console, and she said you could read his lips saying, "Oh, shit, it's a standard." So he got out and left. :lol:

 

What bunch of dopes. I hope they get caught. She sounds like a cool lady

Out of interest do car insurance companies in America offer discounts for manual transmission cars for this reason (them being less desirable to car thieves)?

"Stick" drivers are arguably safer behind the wheel too (due to having more training) so might be less accident prone.
