There is a city in the state of Georgia (United States) called Athens, and I thought that might have happened there. Nonetheless, I'm not shocked. Homophobia's pretty rampet in Greece, as I've been told.

I remember there was an incident at the Atlanta Eagle (a gay bar in Georgia) where the cops burst in, claiming they where "fearing for their lifes". It turned out that there was no reason for the raid, and 19 patrons where forcibly searched.

A lot of cops seem to think they have authority over everyone, and that's pretty sad.

In Virginia a law banning same-sex marriage was struck down after being ruled "unconstitutional"

Ugh, I'll have to bring this event up with my Greek friend. I'm still considering if I want to go visit there. :S.

Jeez! I'm thinking if I ever do get a passport and leave the country for a bit, which I may have to do for some stupid vacation, I have to look up the laws and see if it's even safe for me to be there. I never thought I might have to do that.
