    Quite right too.

    The law says you can't sack someone on the basis of sexual orientation, so why should religion be allowed to play by different rules?

    What is ironic here is that the Church of England is a state backed religion. So they can't really claim separation of church and state. As a consequence, I say it's irrelevant what the clergy think on the matter. If they want a say over what happens in the church they should advocate for it's separation from the government, asserting it's independence like all other faiths in the country.
