If the Ukrainian government clear it and there's no military element to it then fine.

Wouldn't surprise me if humanitarian reasons are used by the Russians as an excuse to intervene militarily though.

It's easy for a humanitarian operation to be "caught up" in violence and for a "protection force" to enter behind them and conveniently forget to leave.

Ukraine could not resist occupation proper. The Russians will use salami tactics. One small step at a time, and that starts easily with a pretext like this.

Skip to 1:20 - it's a very concise description of how humanitarian/stabilising pretexts can quickly get very messy. Minus the German context (and a UK nuclear response), it fits very well into the concept.

The demands the Ukrainians are making for the convoy aren't unreasonable.

 

What happens if the Ukrainians say no? I know the Russian will do it anyway, the Ukrainians scream bloody murder and we get one step closer to global thermonuclear war lol

 

I mean, they're not doing anything wrong. But as we've all seen, the Russians will do it anyway, regardless of who says no.
