Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy has died
Not to be glad about anyone's death, but I won't be mourning Mr Cathy either. This company has a history of 'conservative' anti-gay bias and that probably won't change with this man's death.

when this was trending on facebook, i internally facepalm when people post about how a good christian (and maybe moral or something) he was and how christians need to pray for other people for calling him a bigot.

people can't really see how harmful anti gay agenda is, right?

As I said in my original post, I won't be mourning this person. I have a problem with being happy at another person's death, with some notable exceptions.
This guy lived to an old age. His son now runs the company with the same philosophies. Nothing has changed as far as the company's attitudes or policies

Like the nuggets and fries, and they're surprisingly fast in the mall I go to. Otherwise, hardly notable. I forget half the time that they even close on Sundays.

Well, the story of another conservative is over. One small victory I suppose. The earth will still turn, progress cracks through as conservatism dies the slow painful death that it so desperately claws for. I'm partially curious as to how/why his son got the nickname 'bubba'.

Look, I know he might have said some stupid things, but give this guy some credit. He founded one of the most popular fast food chains in America. He didn't ban gays from eating at the restaurant, nor did he treat them any differently as customers. He had his religious views, views which I don't agree with at all, but is it really worth celebrating his death because of those views? Wouldn't that make us just as bad--hell, even worse than them?

^"Not mourning" is not the same as "celebrating".

And it doesn't matter if he didn't ban gays. He donated company profits to extremely harmful anti-gay and ex-gay organizations. Those groups do damage and are not helping the high LGBT-youth suicide rate. So it's not "disagreeing with his views". He put his views to action and those are actions that have negative repercussions.

It's a mixed bag for me because he did pay his employees well and kept the stores closed on Sunday. As a Christian, I like that. I don't like that he donated to anti-equality sources. This is my life though. I swear most of my nightmares are Christians fighting with the LGBT community. All I can say is it breaks God's heart.

I mean, no one should be happy that someone died. I hope that God's telling him that what he did here on Earth was wrong and stuff. I won't be celebrating that he died, but I just won't care at all.

I kinda hate how people are speaking ill of his death. It makes their side look bad when they made act all "happy" about it. Come on guys.

The good he did from Pastor Rick Warren:

Point is you don't want people like that judging us, so let's give him a second look please despite his shortcomings.
