I'm so glad to see how many celebrities are contributing to the No on 8 movement. I would be crushed if such a monumental progress were broken after only a few months.

I donated money to defeat Prop. 8 in CA and I live in Oregon. I figure any progress in other states will ultimately benefit Oregon and other states so why not?

Of course I applaud your decision to donate against the proposition, but more as a counterbalance to all the "yes" money, than for the potential benefit a "no" vote would have. In an ideal world maybe the vote would have more to do with how Californians feel about the issue (s) at hand, and less about which side has a better financial support network. Outside ideas yes, outside money no. Further amendment to election laws? or maybe I am just a hopeless idealist.

End note 1: I get the sense that more reactionary elements are less inclined to be "hung up" on such idealist notions, and therefore net outside money would favour a "yes" vote.
End note 2: Often enough, outside interests act in ways that do not make sense for the people they are trying to persuade/correct. I cite the example of the ACLU litigation against a school, or the ad campaign against the canadian seal hunt (the later one being almost entirely funded by foreign interests and showed a sincere lack of knowledge about anything other than ready made statistics for the headlines).
End note 3: Prop 9 on election funding anyone?

My respect for him has gone up insurmountably  Not just for the money, but for this statement. If more A-list celebrities show this kind of support, it's going to have a positive effect on a lot of people.

I'm voting, to my knowledge <_< >_> lol, So at least that's 1 more vote against Prop 8

  13. Thats awesome!!

But i can't help thinking that Angelina is the driving force behind his decision, with her Bisexuality and all that. But either way, thats fantastic, the more high profile celebs we have on our side, the better our chance of keeping our rights should be.

I'm glad, really glad, that this has happened, its defiantely a positive sign in my books.

Woo! That is awesome! It's nice to know that there are celebrities out there who respect us, and who can be vocal about it.

    I've always liked Brangelina

That's fantastic! It's silly in a way, but a lot of people are heavily influenced by the views and actions of celebrities. I hope this sways a few people back to our side!
