I still expect Roberts to survive, but this is a very big embarrassment for the Republicans.

I didn't think I'd say this, but I think Pat Roberts is almost as much a goner as Sam Brownback is in Kansas.

Brownback is a moron who deserves to lose, and I say that as a Conservative Republican, while Roberts is a victim of the Tea Party wave/changing times.

I wouldn't say Roberts is gone yet, but if the race continues to trend the way it does, then he will lose by a 4-5 % margin. However, this is politics, and things will change (which way, we don't know).

If we lose Roberts, the Dems hold the Senate.

Orman is a tough nut to crack. There may be a case where the Senate will be deadlocked at 50-49 with the Democrats holding 50 where he may be the ultimate swing voter. He's a centrist, a doesn't fit the mold of either a Republican or Democrat (which is why I think he will win honestly). He says he is fiscally conservative, yet socially tolerant... He also said he would discuss with the other two independents in the Senate (Bernie Sanders and Angus King) about who to caucus with, and both of them currently caucus with Democrats. However, they are both liberal. This'll be really interesting, and could turn out either really good or slightly less bad for Democrats than a Pat Roberts re-election.

He'll caucus with the Dems, unless the GOP takes the senate outright (which is very unlikely if Orman beats Roberts).

Orman is a former Dem who voted for Obama and Hillary. He may be a moderate, but he will still caucus with the Dems if it makes sense.

Funny enough, I'm working on a project about this senate race for a class. I don't live in Kansas, which is the funniest part :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I'd feel incredibly embarrassed if I were him. Thankfully, I don't live in Kansas.

The way republicans are defending the seat is so pathetic it is not even funny. I remember a speech Sen. Jerry Moran of Kansas made saying you must vote Republican or Else. It felt so entitled and snotty and the republicans should keep it up because I have a feeling that kansas really had enough of Roberts and Brownback. Don't even get me started on how homophobic Brownback is or even Roberts.

As far as we know he has not lived in Kansas for 47 years which is the number of his years in Washington D.C. The funny part is the GOP is doing the completely wrong thing by bringing in the establishment to vouch for Roberts while I am guessing Kansas is furious at Washington D.C so their ridiculous strategy is bound to fail. I also remember in the primary there were more votes total against Roberts than there were for him. The only reason he really one his primary is because because their were like seven different challengers splitting the vote.

Kind of like Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz when one comes to think of it.

"Gee, we're not in Kansas anymore!"

I still support Roberts, since I am a Republican and his views strongly align with like 5 of my top 6 issues (gay rights is the only issue I strongly disagree with him on, obvs.)

but, I am not supporting Sam Brownback. He's a fool.

Glad I'm not a GOP Voter in Kansas though, as this is not a good year for our guys over there...
