He really should have read up on Morocco before going. I can't believe he didn't know that homosexuality doesn't fly over in those parts of the world! It reminds me of those people that go over to North Korea and end up getting sent to work camps.

I hardly think a Briton with a Moroccan partner would be ignorant of Morocco's stance on LGBT rights.

  4. Pah!

I don't know if there's any truth behind it, or if it's just homophobic gossip but rumours are the king is gay.

Yeah, morocco - like much of the islamic world has a heavily suppressed gay community. It's very widespread, but very hush hush.

The crime is to not be ashamed of being gay.

It's really sad when other countries wanna jail people simply for being gay.. I would never wanna visit any of those countries that see homosexuality as a crime.

Agree Blossom. So many countries I'd like to visit, but never will, for exactly those reasons. I was asked if I'd go to Egypt a while ago and I immediately refused.

Of course, it's not just about the holiday, it's about the much deeper issues.

Four months is still a very long time, and it pains me that he gets punished for something that's natural and is nothing wrong . I'd never visit any of these places in my life. *stays clear of homophobic, suppressed areas*

I would never want to visit any part of the world like that; even if most of those laws apply to men, It's still fucking crazy and bigoted

At first, I was glad he was freed, but I became more uncomfortable learning he was 69 and was trying to meet with a 20 year old man. I don't think that sounds like a healthy relationship, but maybe it was.
