This was during the Vatican Synod (meeting of bishops) on "the family". I was pleasantly surprised when I got a questionnaire at my local parish, which had a lot of questions about same-sex partnerships and marriage. Though I've lost most of my faith due to agnosticism, I still identify as a Catholic and am eager to support the church's efforts at modernization. It will go a long way to helping the entire world be more tolerant of LGBT people since religion is usually the primary reason given for homophobic attitudes.
