It's odd how little is being spent to help with this crisis, in terms of research, containment and assistance. I heard via the BBC that the WHO estimated it would take about $1 Billion to bring it under control; the US alone has spent well over $1 trillion on it's wars in Iraq and environs, and yet, the world's biggest powers just don't seem to care about poor people in Africa. Or at least not until it the disease starts to pose a threat here. That we can spend 1,000 times as much on wars, and ignore this as long as we have is sad.
