If this were baseball... then I just landed three strikes according to Egypt, and qualify as public enemy #1.

    1. Gay.
    2. Staunch Atheist.
    3. Pro-Democracy Liberal.

To make matters worse I advocate for the secularization and democratization of every nation, and for both secular and democratic values to be explicitly written into constitutions to defend against religious fundamentalists and radicals.

I decided to see if I could turn up any stories regarding persecution against atheists, and ended up turning up this video.

The woman wearing the veil is doing so to protect her identity. The woman not wearing the veil is supposedly a "moderate" Muslim. It reminds me of fighting with "moderate" Christians, and other apologists for the religious right. I can only hope she made it away safely, and finds some way to get the hell out of that country.

That is insane!! No one is hurt by people getting married or being gay or whatever. People who think the law and punishment are ok are evil, cruel assholes.

That's terrible, but at least they weren't given life or sentenced to death.
