    What the my first thoughts were this, the race of mushroom beings is neither male or female but shroom. Cause they are mushrooms, but it is good they identity AD non binary. All praise the mushrooms.

    I always thought Sheikh would have covered that already, but hey! The more the merrier!

    Though this might explain why I've always liked Toad over other characters, even from an early age...

    I do not want to be the Debbie Downer here, but... well... fuck it.

    I find this hard to be considered progress. Toad. Is. A. Mushroom. It would be transgender if it had a gender identity at all, considering mushrooms do not have a biological sex.

    Want to shock me? Come out and say Princess Peach is a transwoman. Do not come out and tell me that a damn mushroom does not identify along the male-female binary. Who would have thought?!

    What next? Will we label Sponge Bob as a transman, since sponges also are neither completely male nor completely female?

    How about we actually have some trans* characters that do not have to be "safe" anthropomorphized non-humans? That would be awesome.

    Okay, sorry for the rant. I feel better now.
