A recent study found that the ability to bond with others and homosexuality may be linked. This would give an evolutionary reason why homosexuality still exists.

I think what this study is suggesting is that having homosexual desires is helpful because it forms bonds. It's missing a few pieces here and there but the conclusion makes sense, homosexuality is defined by a human bond, and obviously these bonds are important for survival. It's dumb that some people think that reproduction is the sole purpose of sex, it's not lol.

Wow, I never knew that it's bonding when I have sex with and have romantic feelings for guys.

    What a revelation.

I cried with laughter, at this. I knew it was funny, but, for some reason, I spilled my drink.

Thank you, hon. You owe me a soda!

    Love this comment
you would think people would have a common sense to know that homosexuality is not much different from heterosexuality as in being able to bond with others of the same sex .

Hahaha!! :roflmao: Just a theory. ;D XD

Anyway, not sure what think of this. Sure, it'll help us bond, just not everyone together. People who are anti-gay bond together and allies bond with us.

What kinda pissed me off with this study is that they were paying attention to people who identify as gay have these stupid has people never heard of the word bisexual .
People are not just straight and gay you dumb ass scientist:tantrum:
Plus some people who are gay identify as straight
I find it funny there only looking at people who identify as heterosexual , seems like there trying to say people are just gay to get there freak on and bond .
On there everyone is bisexual bull shit it's like their so scared to realized there's gay people in the world that aren't attracted to the opposite sex .
Their just as stupid and full of shit take your study and shove it up your ass scientist :tantrum:
At first I didn't read this bs but now after I read and watch the video I think what a load of bull crap so to find out about gay people you studied heterosexual people how stupid can you be really ?

I'm really, really confused with the study.

So its saying basically straight people evolved with heterosexuality (for reproductive reasons), aswell as a some degree of subtle bisexuality or homo-eroticism for group cohesion (to encourage "safety in numbers")? Gay people then simply developed "too much" of this "social" DNA?

If thats right I really don't understand why homosexuality still exists - its not serving a genetic role as surely the "social bonding" would primarily take place with other gay people so thats not really benefiting the group or the individual (its not going to help them bond with a large group for protection or reproduction reasons). Unless its still going because the evolutionary benefit is in forming stronger/better attachments to other men (men being stronger/better chance of survival)? Or helping gay men integrate with both sexes because they aren't a threat/competition for the straight individuals seeking mates?

    Could that be it perhaps?

Why didn't they focus on heterosexual people and not gay people to make a study about being gay can people not tell the difference between gay and bisexuality ?

And let me guess women are gay not because we have our own sexuality or a sexuality but because we can bond ? I call bullshit :tantrum:

Well clearly all gay people release a special pheromone that makes people in the nearby vicinity more sociable, naturally we are immune to this party pheromone. We've just never realised this as we get intimidated at how unusually friendly and extroverted people are being around us!
