It makes Sony seem weak for not taking a full stand on this. I don't think it's a bad idea, but it should be interesting to see how it plays out.

I dunno if it is a good idea.

I mean... Isn't it risky? What if North Korea wasn't bluffing? Though it isn't good to just give in to terrorists either...

Maybe they should put a "watch at your own risk during the commercials..." Seems kinda silly... But they probably should...

It's fairly safe for anyone who doesn't live in Hawaii and some parts of the West Coast.

North Korea's leaders are definitely doing a good job in getting more people to hear about this movie, and attracting interest. That's for sure!

I definitely would like to see it somehow. Whether its going to theatre or getting a DVD or something. The latter is probably more likely.

I believe the FBI said their was nothing to worry about in regards to the threat - N Korea makes a lot of baseless threats against the U.S and S Korea.

longest range ballistic missile DPRK has can reach 3k KM, so they can't hit the US or any of its territories at all with nuclear weapons. The Taepodong-1 (which has a range of 6k KM that could hit Alaska) is suspected to just be a show of force and a jumping point for future long range ballistic missiles.

That said there could potentially be other things they could do with non-nuclear weaponry.

I'm of two minds on taking the film out of theaters. the first is that theaters who do have credible threats should not show the theater. The second is that those who do have have credible threats should show it if they want to do so.

I don't really buy the whole "if you don't show the movie the terrorists win!" or other such arguments made by some people.

It seems that sony didn't secure it's online rental well enough. People who rented it could download and keep it. There is a copy on Bit Torrent now with 55000 seeders, and another 30000 leachers.

I saw this last night Christmas Eve on my laptop. It was actually really funny, albeit crude
I was originally watching it with my mom, but she had to leave halfway after it was too much for her.

It's hard to believe they would go to this length to market a movie. Didn't they actually have sensitive information leak? I haven't followed the news that close. I wouldn't be surprised though.

I think theaters should screen it if they want, but probably warn people of the threats. If North Korea is behind the threats, I can't see them physically doing anything to retaliate. The U.S. would obliterate Kim's entire regime if they did and they have to know that; hopefully they wouldn't do something so dumb out of anger as to basically declare war on the U.S.. I don't know if China cares enough about them to actually defend them? That could be a problem though.

It's probably an illuminati plot to start world war 3 and establish the new world order from the aftermath, y'know since they already control hollywood and all that
