More here:Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert Challenges John Boehner For Speaker - The New Civil Rights Movement

I can honestly say that Louie Gohmert is one of the dumbest people in Congress. I'm not even saying that because of me being a Progressive Democrat either, he is legitimately not smart. I do have to say that a Gohmert speakership would be more than interesting, as would Yoho.

I heard about this and it does not matter if its Boehner, Gohmert, or Yoho is speaker the same old obstruction will persist. Everything Obama has done according to republicans is outrageous when other presidents have done the same things. We may have gave Bush as much crap but I think the line was farther crossed by republicans with obama. I think Obama is one of the most mistreated presidents in US history.

John Boehner won the Speaker's election two years ago by four votes. I'm pretty sure there are more than four establishment Republicans who retired and were replaced by children, so tomorrow, I may have to flip on C-SPAN.

it'll be a lot worse with Gohmert.

regardless of what you think of Boehner, who is an obstructionist, Gohmert is a teaparty darling and as such has a heavy incentive to please his base by being far more to the right and stall more than Boehner does.

I would have to vote Boehner over Gohmert if I were in their shoes or I'd change parties already.

Boehner seems like more of a fussy obstructionist than a serious danger. I'd rather they kept him than replace him with Gohmert, but I know nothing of Yoho.

On a totally trivial note, I've always found Boehner rather funny. His name should be by no account pronounced "Bayner". It's an anglicisation of Böhner, which sounds far more like a (non-rhotic) English "Burner" than "Bayner". He's really just that desperate to avoid any kind of ridicule.
