This is evil. I should point out--for like the millionth time--that nobody seems to care about ciswomen sexually assaulting each other in the bathroom. It only becomes a concern for transwomen in the bathroom. Nor has it escaped my notice that nobody cares about what happens to transmen.

More generally, this measure is evil because it's just another oppressive measure being taken on the basis of fear that doesn't address any of the real problems that actually exist.

Our society is terrible at dealing with rape and sexual assault. Primarily, this is because we don't want to believe that people who commits rape might be our friends or colleagues. We never want to believe a rapist could be someone famous. We never want to believe the person could be an intimate partner or a family member.

In short, we'd like to maintain rape and sexual assault mythology, while oppressing unrelated people, and refusing to deal with the actual problem.

Honestly though, what the hell kind of law is that?

 

No wonder urinary tract infections are unfortunately not uncommon among trans folk, especially the number of trans men I've spoken with. But nobody gives a shit about the trans guys, even though our society targets trans women due to misogyny/sexism--and for that, I truly feel for the women who have to endure and deal with fucksticks like these people who pass invasive, discriminating, and downright idiotic laws.

For fuck's sake, the "wrong" bathroom? I'm pretty sure if I went into the women's restroom after not having shaved for a week, I'd make plenty of women feel rather uncomfortable. :rolle:
