The problem is that Tsipras could engage in blustering socialist rhetoric and announce the end of Greece's dependence on German money with bombast, but he might avoid tackling tax evasion, corruption and the other flaws in Greece's economy - in short, securing the reliance on Germany in the long term and having to resort to a stock standard deal with the ECB, the EC and the IMF yet again and possibly further disappointing Greek voters.

I was expecting someone to make a vulgar joke about a stimulus package after WK's post.

His party is LGBT friendly and supports civil unions for same sex couples. (I dont know if he supports marriage and adoption). He is the youngest prime minister in greek history and yesterday when he was elected he give a talk and in the crown infront of him some rainbow flags were waving.

Tsipras has broken with Greek political tradition and declined to be sworn in with clerical blessings. Instead, he'll have a minor priest present for religious members of his cabinet, but not for himself.

One of his party activists, Nikos Kosmidis, said that he is "acknowledging the sanctity of church services and behaving with respect to all of us (practising Christians)... Instead of him taking a false oath, we will offer him our sincere prayers." (quote from the Economist)

I'm glad somebody got elected who isn't all about this austerity crap, which appears to have done pretty much nothing but make people miserable. Let the 1% try practicing it some...
