League of Legends e-sports organizer limits lesbian and transgender participants | Ars Technica

Their reasoning was that, those players may have "unfair advantage"

    Few things to note:

    - This is the stance of Garena Philippines, official partner of Riot, not of Riot themselves. Riot clarify on twitter later that they are all inclusive and welcome all LGBT players, and will work with their partners to ensure shared values everywhere.

    - "Gay" in philippines can also be understood as a crossdresser, or simply males that does not fall into gender norms. Although it is likely that they are using it in the sense of being homosexual.

    What?
    I...just...WHAT??

They somehow managed to be homophobic, transphobic, and sexist all at the same time. Is there some kind of bigot award for that?

That's stupid. If they want to have an all feminine tournament, fine; but they need to accept all women...

There should be. So being honest I can understand why maybe some female only sports teams would have reservations against transgender women, especially pre-op or estrogen, because having a male body could definitely give them an edge. But this is a video game not an actual sport - there's no such thing as an unfair advantage. Why have a separate women's league at all? And being a lesbian doesn't make you a man, idiots.

Yes, because lesbians and transwomen are inherently better at video games than cisgendered straight women. Seriously?

The problem is that in "real world" professional and Olympic sports the practice is not unheard of... They just don't brazenly come out and say that they do "birth sex tests," even if that's that they are in actual effect.
