From the Advocate, for anyone who might be looking to move in the fairly near future.

I also thought the mention of Muslims for Progressive Values was interesting. I wasn't aware that they existed. However, a quick look at their website indicates they support full equality for LGBT+ people. I only did a quick skim, but given the number of Muslim members we have here, it might be worth checking out.

    Hope this helps,

    Todd

I'm sorry, but those are about the worst criteria for LGBT friendliness I have ever seen

I think of Adrienne when they say "gay gun club". LOL.

I must agree with SemiCharmedLife, Dayton and Lansing are not LGBT friendly places. Sorry...

Too funny. The way they do it (dividing by the population) it would be almost impossible for the city I live in to make the list, but both the city I grew up in (Salt Lake City, UT) and the city I went to college in (Cambridge, MA) made the list!

It should be noted that this is apparently a list of the "least expected" cities. What is the logic behind listing the cities that are least known for being progressive and listing them in a way that insinuates that they are the most progressive? The world may never know.

Though I appreciate the attention given to progressive Muslim and Jewish institutions.

First of all, Lansing is not a college town. MSU is in East Lansing, which is a different city. But no, their criteria is pretty bad for inclusion on this list.
