    Sounds like a case of Munchausen by Proxy syndrome.

    I hear about cases like this all the time. My mother works for a psychologist so she tells me the worst of these kind of stories. Some of the cases she mentions were so horrid to think about that even I can't repeat them. And trust me that is pretty bad. She needs to be put in an insane asylum.

    My mom worked in my local school system for years. It is pretty dad what some children go through because their parents want attention.

    This definitely sounds like she has Münchausen Syndrome by Proxy. It's sad nobody was able to save the child before it was too late.

    Munchausen's is a pretty scary thing and it's unfortunate that doctors didn't detect it earlier. What kind of illness did he have? Did they suspect that something else might have been causing it? There are a lot of questions.
