Kate Brown used my testimony in one of her speeches before the Senate. I have an autographed copy.

The only openly gay politician that I know of recently is Barney Frank. There are more I'm sure, just haven't heard of them.

    From article:

Jared Polis of Colorado became the first openly gay man elected to the U.S. Congress as a non-incumbent. He joins Rep. Barney Frank and Rep. Tammy Baldwin, both reelected Tuesday night, as the only openly LGBT Members of Congress.

So now we have three openly gay politicians on Capital Hill.

Hey, hey! Don't forget Christine Quinn, speaker of the New York City Council (not elected this year, but still!) She's effectively the second most powerful person in NYC, after Mayor Bloomberg. I'm privileged to know her.

Yay for Christine Quinn! Down with Bloomberg! He has blocked more pro-gay legislation than I care to think about.

Wow, interesting stuff. I didn't know that the US has quite a few elected and non-elected politicians/officials who are openly gay. Way to go. In Canada, I can only think about three politicians who are openly gay, and only two of them (if I am not mistaken) are currently in office.
